I haven't updated this blog in a while! I acually forgot I had it. When I got back on I had a few comments. Sorry I did not get a chance to respond to these. One was very interesting. No, I have not forgotten.
UPDATE on the Robersons.
Jolee is in the 1st grade now. It was a rough start but we are doing great now. She thought 1st grade work was just too hard. She has the highest grade in the class in math and is reading up a storm. Her teacher, Mrs. Wallace is the greatest!! She was Jonah's teacher and I am so glad to have her again. She is tough and demands alot, but they learn so much!! Monday morning Poppa and Granny went for a Grandparents breakfast and program. It was wonderful, I hear.
Jolee has been riding her pony, Snap Dragon. They are doing good. She is going over crossrails with him. She and her brother, Jacob, are trying to get him ready to show.
Jonah is in the 6th grade. He has a new school this year, IA Lewis. All the 6th graders from the Ruston elementary schools go there. He will be there for one year, then on to Jr High. It is a very good school! Jonah is in honors classes and the STEM science class. He is on the newly formed Science Olympiad Team. He will compete at meets, regionals, and hopefully state and nationals. It is kinda like a track team for science. They have events but do them with partners. Sounds fun! He also runs cross country. He likes that too.
Jonah has been riding our adopted paint horse, Lacey, that a friend in Memphis lets us keep. He has been cantering and jumping. He is looking forward to showing her soon.
Ok, Jacob. Well Jacob has had an exciting summer. He outgrew his great pony, Hero, at the first of the summer. They qualified to go back to pony finals but timing was not there. The hunter horse he has been working with cut his foot. He was without a mount for the summer. But you know - "When the Lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window." Jacob's "window" was in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He went to spend some time with Andy Kocher a trainer in Tuscaloosa. Two weeks turned into about a month. I has been a great opportunity for him. He has gone to several shows with Andy. He rides horses for him and helps out. He has been showing a couple of brother horses from Argentina. He shows Papiro in Children's hunter. He won Champion in Auburn, AL. He shows Patterson in jumpers. They are both good horses but very green. Not easy rides!! Jacob likes the challenge. We have met alot of people and I have made some very good friends!
Jacob is a Sophomore at Ruston High this year. He is not wild about school but does very well. He will miss alot of days this year traveling, but they are willing to work with us. I am trying to put off the home schooling for at least a year.
Me, I have been chasing kids. That's about it!
Hope this updates everyone on the Roberson's. I will try to do better in the future.
